Ecwid uses X-Cart and LiteCommerce, PHP products that have been the core of the business since 2001. All of today’s best shopping carts are PHP based. However, PHP e-commerce software is still under development. If you have a bunch of geeks who constantly mods your site, then PHP is the best solution. But if you need just a nice and easy store, which work within minutes, then ecwid is the right tool for you. It’s quite powerful too.

  1. Hi,

Actually Ecwid doesn’t use X-Cart or LiteCommerce in its core. Ecwid is a brand new product. The only relation between Ecwid and X-Cart is that they were made by the same company: Qualiteam.

Thanks for the review : -)
