ShakeItPhoto is a simple app that does basically only one thing but it does it perfectly. It allows you to take a photo or to choose one from your library and develops it in the Polaroid style. The name of the app has originated from the fact that you can shake the iPhone in order to “develop” the photographs faster. There are no much options in this app other than to just shoot and shake. This app is $0.99 and is worth every penny.
The site offers you with many features such as Photo Gallery, SHARE YOUR BEST SHOTS ON FLICKR, Add your Favourite ShakeItPhoto shots to our ‘Best Of’ Flickr Group, PHOTOSHAKEDOWN, Post your shots to the PhotoShakeDown directly from your iPhone etc. The ShakeItPhoto features a real instant photo look and feel, Shake iPhone to speed up the development, Process existing photos from your Camera Roll into Polaroids, Real Sound FX, Automatically saves to your library, ShakeItPhoto Impressions. It is very simple to use. Once it is opened, you can instantly take a photo. In case you don’t want a photo to be taken, you can view your Camera Roll by simply pushing a button.
After a photo is taken or by selecting a photo to edit, the ShakeItPhoto separates itself from the pack. The whirl and buzz of a Polaroid camera seeps out of the iPhone and your photo slides to display which will be covered in gray fog that begins to fade and finally reveals the processed photo. With an actual Polaroid you can shake the iPhone to speed up the developing. It is said that a “shaken” photo takes approximately 15 seconds to develop whereas an “unshaken” photo takes about 30 seconds. The sound effect is an added feature.
But a drawback of this app is that you will have to wait for the photos to develop before you can select another picture or exit the program and in case you select another photo or exit the program before this happens then the altered photo will not appear in the Camera Roll and hence it will not be saved. And the pros of this app is that it alters the photos in a subtle manner that is consistent with the Polaroid photos. The size of the output photos is large (1040 x 1016) and the Polaroid sound effects is an attractive feature.
