Incarnate is a place where you can find your avatars from all around the web so you don’t have to upload a new avatar each time you either join a service or leave a comment. You can find and reuse your avatar.
Incarnate is a REST-based service which uses the peoples’ usernames to find their avatars on the world wide web. To do this, the Incarnate queries the social networking sites such as the Facebook, Twitter, Xbox Live, MySpace and YouTube.
To get started you have to begin with giving @username. Once you add your username or email address the Incarnate uses the social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Xbox Live or YouTube to find your avatars from all around the web. The Incarnate is a rest service that is hosted in the Windows Azure that is available for anyone to use.
You can also add Incarnate to your website. This process is very easy. If you are using the WordPress then either download the WordPress plug-in or search for the Incarnate WordPress plug-in from within the WordPress gallery then install the WordPress Plugin. For this firstly Open the WordPress Dashboard. Then in your Wordpress Dashboard, click the “Add New” in the “Plugins” section of the navigation. Next search for the Incarnate. Then click the “Install.” Finally see the WordPress Plugin Directory.
For installing on a non-WordPress platform, in case you are using another blog engine or content management system then you will need to add the Incarnate manually to your website.
If you had like to use the plug-in with your theme then you will need to get the “Power User” code from the settings page and then add it to your template. You can also change the look and feel of the Incarnate avatar selection in the WordPress plug-in by editing both the .php and .js files.
There are basically two places where the Incarnate user interface is created. The first is in the static HTML that gets inserted into the comment form. This HTML string represents the static html comment form. In case you modify this html make sure the various IDs of the form values are not changed. This HTML snippet works along with the incarnate.js file which is where the dropdown of the avatars are generated. Each div that contains the incarnate image and the provider image is displayed and is generated.
