Google has released Chrome into beta for Mac and Linux, which has been in development for sometime now. This Mac version of Chrome is really impressive when it comes to features like JavaScript rendering. The initial beta version is only compatible with Intel-based Macs. Besides Mac release, Chrome for Linux is also promoted to a beta version.

Google Chrome runs applications and web pages with lightning speed. Though Chrome can hold up against Safari on the Mac, there are still a lot of improvements which is to be done. These improvements will be reflecting in the Linux version too. It is an excellent quick-use browser on the Mac, and for those who have just installed Chrome, they will find it incredibly fast. This is a major leap forward since many of the other browsers are comparatively not fast.
Another favoring feature is ‘Omnibox’, as Google calls it. Instead of offering tow different tabs, search tab and address tab, there is only one tab for both searching and for entering the URL. Also, Chrome helps in enhancing the overall user experience. Another impressive feature is the tabs sliding in and out of view, and it is apparently smart enough to isolate crashes and it would keep them from bringing down the whole browser.
Focusing on the downside of Google Chrome, you could find that it lacks bookmark manager, bookmark syncing and also the cookie manager. Extension support is also missing.
For Linux a new Chrome beta is available which gives official support for extensions and also native GTK+ theming. Another addition is the Chrome extensions. Google has recently launched its own extensions repository where users will be able to go to find third-party Chrome enhancements on the Web. These extensions add commendable features to the browser, which include Xmarks support and also a slick Twitter client called Chromed Bird that is being integrated into the Chrome toolbar.
