On Thursday Coca-Cola launched a facial-matching Facebook application which is called the Coke Zero Facial Profiler. In order to use this application, you need to have at least three photos in your Facebook profile. This application would search across other pictures from users of Facebook who have used the app in order to find someone whose face matches most accurately as theirs’.

Those who don’t have at least three images could either upload a picture right into the app from their desktop or even capture a picture from their Webcam. Once you have added it to your profile, you can immediately use this app to find pictures in your profile. This process would take a bit more of your time, but it is worth the wait.

After you have chosen the picture you wanted to use, the app would ask you to drag your image in order to match the shadowed outline of a head. It is also possible for you to move markers over your eyes in order to ensure that the application is reading your image correctly.

The only problem with Coca-Cola’s facial-matching app would be the delay in finding a match. It could be due to the fact that it has to search through several different faces in order to find the right person, but you will find yourself happier if it ends sooner than it does now. After having done the process, this app would say how much it fits. Once the image has been selected, you will be given the option of connecting with the person with whom you have the perfect match.

You can try Coca-Cola’s app once or twice, and much to your satisfaction, you will see it is worth even if it is just for a laugh. But this app won’t be able to last long unless and until more number of people try it out and also get their images added to the database.
